C’mon Lucky 7! It’s World Chocolate Day All Week Long at Stam’s

 

As chocolatiers, we may have the happiest job in the world. We get to spend our days melting and blending and filling (and tasting!) and selling our world-class confections, and we think that makes us some pretty lucky people.

July 7th (lucky number 7/7) is World Chocolate Day! (Appropriately, this year’s digits (2014) add up to 7, as well. Jackpot!) To celebrate this auspicious day, we’ve planned a week of extra-special specials in our Ingersoll store.

Day One: Monday, July 7, 2014 Roll the Die Day
Come in to Chocolaterie Stam on Ingersoll and roll a die at the time of purchase for your discount. You’ll save 10 times your roll, so a 6 will get you 60% off your total!

Day Two: Tuesday, July 8th 2014 Choc-o-Let’s Make a Deal!
We’ll give you a 10% discount, which you can choose to use, or risk it all for a chance at a prize worth up to $10. 

Day Three: Wednesday, July 9th, 2014 Dealer’s Day Off
The croupier has the croup, so the cashier has to make the deal today. If you draw the high card, you’ll win a 10% discount on any purchase (excluding wine). If the dealer wins, better luck next time!

Day Four: Thursday July 10th, 2014 Better Luck This Time!
Our stakes are higher today, but you can’t lose! Draw the high card and win a 20% discount on any purchase (excluding wine). If the dealer wins, it’s your lucky day: you still get 10% off!

Day Five: Friday, July 11th, 2014 Five-Finger Discount (Rock, Paper Scissors)
Purchase $25 or more and play Rock, Paper, Scissors at checkout. If you win, you’ll get $5 Stam gift card. If you don’t win, it’s out of your hands. LOL

Day Six: Saturday, July 12th, 2014 Four of a Kind Gelato Day
Today you can score a special foursome of 2 oz. gelato and sorbetto selections for $7. Our signature gelati and dairy-free sorbettos are hand-crafted using traditional Italian techniques and ingredients. We partner with Picket Fence creamery to create some the most extraordinary frozen treats we’ve tasted.

Day Seven: Sunday, July 13th, 2014 Luck be a Lady Happy Hour
We made it to the end of the week without losing our shirt, yet we still have one more special up our sleeves! On Sunday, July 14th, between 2 and 5 pm, ladies get two-for-one gelato, cremosas, Italian sodas, and coffees.

The Stambrella Project

The Stambrellas for Hawthorne Hill Project 

As Easter approaches and our days loll toward the month of May, it occurs to us at Chocolaterie Stam, that,  Mother’s Day is just a hop, (pun intended) skip and a jump around the corner. To celebrate April’s transition to May, Stam’s has asked a coterie of local artists to hand paint umbrellas for one our favorite charities—Hawthorne Hill.

In the month of April, Chocolaterie Stam Des Moines will hang artisan-designed umbrellas in their Ingersoll and Valley West Mall store. Customers will vote for their favorite by “wishing them to win”—throwing donations and money into their favorite designs.  The Stam “brella” which collects the most  “wishes” will be awarded the Best in “Show”ers and a 40 piece box of Stam Chocolates.

Rules: 

1. Stam will provide fabric paintable umbrella for each artist to interpret the best use of color, texture and design.

2. Artists must submit the ‘brella design by April 21^st, 2014 at 2814 Ingersoll Avenue for installation either at Valley West Chocolaterie Stam or Ingersoll Avenue Chocolaterie Stam

3. All “judging” will be by placing donations (wishes)  in the umbrellas with all proceeds going to Hawthorne Hill.

4.  “Judging” will be complete on May 05, 12pm Midnight

5.  Artist and winner will be notified by Facebook and twitter May 07, 2014.

6.  All ‘brella artist entries will be auctioned by silent bid at our Mother’s day open house, Thursday, May 08, 2014.

7. All proceeds will be donated to Hawthorne Hill

Easter Sunday is April 20, 2014. Stam Chocolate wants you and yours to enter our 1st annual coloring contest. Open to all ages, in the following brackets:

Toddler Apprentice—age 2 & under: Winner will receive a $25 Easter Gift Basket courtesy of Chocolaterie Stam.
Rembrandt—ages 3-5:  Winner will receive a $25 Easter Gift Basket courtesy of Chocolaterie Stam.
Van Gogh—ages 6-8:  Winner will receive a $25 Easter Gift Basket courtesy of Chocolaterie Stam.
Van Dyck—ages 9-12:  Winner will receive a $25 Chocolaterie Stam Gift Card good at participating stores.

Vermeer—ages 13+ (yes, including you, adults!): Winner will receive a $25 Stam Gift Card good at participating stores.

All received entries will be placed in a random drawing for one grand prize winner.

Grand prize in The Chocolaterie Stam Celebrate with Color, Celebrate with Stam Easter Coloring Contests will be Our 2014 Extra-large Wheel Barrel Bunny. (Valued at 69.95)

One “Best of Prizes”  are awarded in each category with one grand prize winner to be announced on Chocolaterie Stam Facebook page as well as email.  All entries whether electronic, digital, facsimile or in-store drop off must be receive by 12 midnight Saturday, April 12, 2014 for judging.  Judging will be based on the following criteria:

• Neatness
• Creativity
• Use of color

Judging and drawing for Grand prize will be on Wednesday, April 16th at 2pm. Winners will be announced by email and facebook on April 17th 2014.  All decisions are final.  No purchase necessary.  One entry per person.  Any vulgar or inappropriate entries will be discarded and ineligible for judging. All entries will become property of Chocolaterie Stam, USA, and cannot be returned.
